In November of 1963 Liviu Feldman, better known around the store as "Lee" was in Vienna, Austria on his way to immigrate to the United States. Lee and his wife were making their journey from their homeland of Bucharest, Romania. This was not just any normal day in November, but the day that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Not only were Lee and his wife moving to a new country where they did not speak the language, but they were now moving while the country was having a tragic national crisis. They feared that their immigration would be compromised, but they decided to continue their journey. Coming from a communist country, Lee and his wife quickly found solace with their new life in St. Louis. Upon arrival in America, Lee began learning on-the-job repairing watches at a shop downtown that his wife's cousin owned and operated. Lee continued to repair watches after that shop closed and became the watchmaker for stores all across the St. Louis area. Over 25 years ago our owner, Barry convinced Lee to work at Albarre' full time. It has been a great partnership. Many of you meet Lee over the years and ask about him often. Lee was a very talented watch maker. He retired in 2022 and is spending his time with family and traveling. Although Lee is now retired, we can still help with your watch repair needs. Bring your watch in for a complimentary estimate. We can still install batteries while you wait and replace watch bands. We look forward to servicing your treasured watches.
